The remote controls the fan's three speeds and its light, and can be wall mounted; the fan can also be controlled from a phone or tablet with the free fanSync app.

Fanimation has discontinued this kit; this listing supports customers adding or replacing fanSync control on an existing fan.

The fanSync Bluetooth receiver works with most 3-speed AC-motor ceiling fans, including many fans from other brands. Fanimation's own fan specifications list it as a compatible control for Spitfire, Edgewood 44, Kerring, Influencer, Klout, Doren, and Caruso, along with the 120V Hugh and Involution models. It is rated for 120V and is intended for fans with no light or a single downlight; fans with both an uplight and a downlight use the BTR9U receiver instead. It is not for DC-motor ceiling fans.

The receiver in this kit is also sold on its own as the BTR9 fanSync Bluetooth Receiver.
