The Spitfire

hello, Spitfire

The only fan in the Fanimation's product line with genuine wood blades. Plus, who doesn't enjoy to customize the decor in their home? This should include the ceiling fan, too!

Introducing, the Spitfire! A collection of Ceiling Fan components to help you choose finishes in 3 options: Motor, Blades, & Light Kit. An affordable, yet quality infused, option to give you any color scheme to your fan without having to pay for each individual look.

FEATURES

This damp rated fan comes with two motor options, based on the size of the blades.
AC MOTOR
A three-speed, remote controlled fan available with 48" and 60" blade sweep options. Comes with a 4.5" down rod in the box. Shop 48" and 60" sizes.
DC MOTOR
A variable-speed, remote controlled fan with complimentary app control, available in the 64", 72", 84" and 96" blade sweep options. Comes with a 12" down rod in the box. Shop 64", 72", 84" and 96" sizes.

THE 3 CUSTOMIZABLE OPTIONS

Ceiling Fan Motor: This is the portion of the fan that hangs from the ceiling, holds and spins the blades. This includes the fan body, download, and housing cover.

Ceiling Fan Blades: These are the blades that create the fan sweep.

Ceiling Fan Light Kit: The light kit is the optional add on that provides an integrated LED light access to your fan. Whether you want to use the fan without the light, or add light to it, this optional add on also comes with your choice to match the finish light kit.

BLADE FINISH COLOR CHOICES

NATURAL: The original, pale & golden wood.

DRIFTWOOD: A golden, orange wood.

WHISKEY WOOD: A medium/dark brown.

DARK WALNUT: An extremely darkened wood, just shy of black.

BLACK: The blackest of black.

WEATHERED WOOD: The rustic, beach wood with grey hues.

BRUSHED NICKEL: Perfect grey vibes over a wooden texture.

WHITE WASHED: Light Grey with silver tones; the closest to white.

LIGHT KIT COLOR CHOICES

Light Kits are optional. They provide you the choice of using the fan without light or adding light. Most customers choose the light when the room doesn't have any other light source, while those with recessed cans and additional light layers, tend to use fans that are light-less.

Just another way to give you the power of choice when it comes to this stylish fan.

Zelle's Summary of this Fan

The aspect that I'm able to pick the motor, blades, and optional light kit is a great way for keeping the style of the fan in your home consistent, without taking away from the various decor changes that each room may have. It's fun doing more than just a white fan in every room. For rooms that have recessed cans you can use the fan without a light, while spare rooms that have nothing in the ceiling except a spot for a fan, just get the light kit added to them. Easy-peasy. No matter what combination you choose, the fan price stays the same, making your color selections easier. Plus, it's the only ceiling fan in the Fanimation line that has genuine wooden fan blades!

60" v 64" (AC v DC Motor)
Personally, if you're looking at the 60", I'd just skip it and go straight to the 64" size – this under $20 difference gets you from the AC motor up to the DC motor instead, which is the quieter of the two, tends to last longer, and has a complimentary smartphone app that comes with it. We're only talking 2" on each blade; so the overall fan gets slightly bigger than the standard 3" sticky note.

The AC motor has three speeds, while the DC has variable speeds (we're talking approximately 31ish speeds maybe that are used on a 0-100% range when using the app. The free app allows for you to schedule your fan to be on/off at certain times, which has helped me greatly. The whole point of a ceiling fan, is to mix the air and keep it flowing (it's why beach places leave their windows open). My suggestion, would be to schedule your fan to spin on full blast while you're away, then have it turn itself off around your general return-to-home time.

Probably my favorite feature of a ceiling fan (that is included with DC-motored Fanimation fans and all of the Modern Forms product line) is the Breeze or Fresh Air mode. This setting will fluctuate the speed of the fan, at random (high for some time, low for a few seconds, medium for a bit, etc.). I use this setting daily, unless I really want the fan to just blow on high the whole time. For nighttime reasons, it made a noticeable difference – we rarely have it on any other setting now.

App Control
The app control is really easy to use; adding a fan didn't take much time at all. I schedule my fans to blast on high while I'm away from home, then we use it on the breeze mode otherwise.

Do I have a Spitfire?
Yes! I own a 60" AC motored Spitfire (this was purchased before DC motors were even released) in Dark Bronze, with Dark Walnut blades, and a Dark Bronze motor. It's pretty good. In my home, with the Repose Grey walls, and the window behind it, the fan is quite dark and almost appears black (especially since there is nothing else black in the room). But, when that sun shines on it, you see the hints of warmth peak through. While it only has three speeds, we use it in a guest room and the light output is perfect (actually, amazing) for that room that does not have any can lights. The room is approximately 11' x 13' and the fan lights it beautifully by itself. We use it on a dimmed setting of some sort most of the time.
