Confirming Eligibility

– Homeowner. You must be the homeowner (18+ years of age), or have written authorization from the homeowner to be allowed to install the ceiling fan. Limit one (1) entry per customer, limit two (2) entries per property address.

– Location. Your home must be within the local Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, or greater Charlotte area (which includes areas such as Waxhaw, Denver, Lake Wylie, Matthews, Indian Trail, Stallings, and Weddington).

– Electrical. Your home must have existing (working) electrical and a ceiling height of 14.99ft or less in the area where you would want the {potential} fan to go, if won. If needed, our installation team is willing to pull electrical into the space first, but this will be at the going rate of a switch leg. Ceilings 15.00ft or over are not eligible for the free installation, nor a discount on the installation if won.

– No Cash Value. The promotion has no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for cash if any portion or in-full is forfeited. The winner can gift their winnings to a friend or family member, if the recipient qualifies (a signed form will be required). In the event the winner has already purchased a ceiling fan (with or without installation) from our showroom within the sale period (June 14-July 31, 2025), then they are able to use their winnings as a method of reimbursement in the method of showroom credit only (this amount would be for the originally paid amount (maxing out at the promotional maximum); there is no reimbursement for any difference if the originally paid amount is less than the promotional maximum – the credit would remain on the account for any future purchase).

– Photography / Videography. This is a promotional event. Photos and/or video will be taken at the time of installation. Photos will also be submitted as part of the entry process. All of these photos/video will be used for marketing purposes. By entering, customer gives Lighting & Bulbs Unlimited the rights to use these photos for marketing purposes without any compensation for the use of the content. Your name will be listed with your entry during the voting process.

– Additional Costs. Additional costs, that are not included within the free installation, include (but are not limited to): replacing the electrical junction box in the ceiling, swapping out switching and/or wall controls, smart phone app programming, additional return trips (if any), or pulling new electrical into the room. For example, needing a replacement electrical junction box does not disqualify you from the competition, it just incurs an additional cost to correct that before the installation can take place, which our installation team is able to handle at an additional charge.

– Prize. The winner will receive a ceiling fan valued up to retail $450.00 to use specifically on a new ceiling fan. If the selected fan is greater in price, the customer will be responsible for the difference, plus 7.25% sales tax. Discounts cannot be applied to the selected fan (cannot stack discounts/promotions).

– How to Enter. Participant(s) will fill out the contact form found on this page. Entry opens June 18, 2025 at noon (12p). Enter by 11:59pm Eastern on July 31, 2025. Within 24 hours, they will receive a confirmation email reply that their submission has been received (in this email, we will request that you reply with a photo of your ugly ceiling fan). Submissions are not confirmed until you have received written confirmation that your photo has been received (please reply to the email chain, do not create a new email chain when sending your photo). If any submissions are last minute, please keep an eye out on your email as you'll be on an extremely tight deadline to submit your photo (photos must be received by 12p on August 1, 2025 Eastern) if the submission was made on July 31, 2025. We cannot extend these deadlines.

– Purchases. Purchases before or during the promotional period do not increase your chances to win, at all. No purchase is required to enter.

Voting Details

– How to Vote. Voting will occur August 2-8, with the winner being announced on August 9th after the tally. Voting will take place on our website (lightingandbulbsunlimited.com). Limit one (1) vote per legitimate email address (email addresses that bounce back or cannot receive confirmations of the submitted vote may not be counted). Be sure to add uglyfan@lightingandbulbs.com to your contact list.

– One Winner. There can only be one winner; in the event of a tie, a tie-breaker vote will be held (details to follow, if that were to occur).

– Fraudulent Votes. If any fraudulent voting activity is detected, from fake emails, bot-driven or unauthorized voting email submissions, the participant receiving the fraudulent votes is subject to disqualification and/or the entire competition is subject to cancellation in full. While the competition is meant for awareness and engagement, cheating is not tolerated. Please do not ruin this for everyone else (we're aiming to have promotion annually).

– Joining the Mailing List. All participant entries and voting submissions understand and agree to joining the mailing list as part of their entry or submission and can unsubscribe at any time without any hard feelings.
