Damp Rated Ceiling fans are made to be outdoors when used in covered locations, such as a screened in porch or patio. Damp Rated fans are not meant to come into direct contact with rain or snow. Damp Rated fans CAN be used in Indoor areas, but cannot be used in areas where they are not sheltered or covered.
